Eisenerz knife exhibition
Eisenerz in Austria is mostly known for its immense reserves of iron ore, and the annual motocross. But it also has a very nice knife show.

Only to those with ore in their bones and gasoline in their blood will the location: ‘Eisenerz - Styria - Austria’ ring a bell. The blacksmiths and speculators know that three million tons of the best ore is mined here annually at the Erzberg. The fans of the international Enduro Motocross make Eisenerz their ‘navel of the world’ once a year to face and fight: THE MOUNTAIN at the Erzberg-rodeo. A big pop manufacturer has turned this into an international mega-event and calls it the ‘Hare Scramble’.

The annual knife exhibition in Eisenerz is by no means a major event, but the date is reserved in the agenda of quite a few international knife friends. Organizer Alois Hammer managed to gather 47 exhibitors for the 14th time from five nations at the Innerberger Gewerkschaftshaus on the 9th of June this year. Blacksmiths, knife makers, industrial knife producers and material traders on an international top level like to return every year to attend this traditional event.
The organiser manages to keep a balance between the big names of the scene and the young rising knife makers very well. This ensures a very refreshing mix during the exhibition. The traditionally held raffle of two handmade knives is considered the highlight for the visitors of the knife exhibition.
